Linda's Little Learners Family Childcare is a licensed in home daycare with 16+ years of experience. Located in Citrus Heights, CA (facility number 343626037). I am located off of Sunrise Blvd and Sungarden (by the FoodMaxx). Licensed through the state of California, I have had an extensive background check (as have my assistants), and am current on CPR and First Aid training, as well as mandated reporter training. I supply healthy meals and snacks that follow the USDA guidelines on serving nutritious meals. You can rest assured that your children are being provided well rounded meals while at daycare. I offer breakfast, lunch and 2 snacks and have experience with food allergies (my son has a severe allergy to peanuts). I am happy to accommodate any food allergies that your child may have.
Here at Linda's Little Learners Family Childcare, I provide a safe, loving, home away from home where children are able to play in a child friendly environment and learn from hands on experiences and activities. I believe in provider/parent mutual communication and keep lines of communication open and inviting. I care for children ages 6 weeks old (newborn) - 6yrs old (school age). I believe in a play based program that allows little ones to enjoy being little while still helping the older children (2.5 yrs and older) to prepare for Kindergarten through activities and crafts that help with learning the alphabet, numbers/counting, shapes, colors, writing as well as everyday tasks such as manners, hand washing, potty training, etc. I believe that when children are given opportunities to explore and have hands on experiences, they learn a great deal about the world they live in and about themselves. Children are not made to sit under instruction for hours at a time and need the flexibility to explore and learn from real world experiences with guided love and support from caregivers and social development by spending time with other children. The children in my care are given the love, attention, encouragement as well as independence. Children learn from what they are surrounded by, they grow a positive attitude, a love for others and sense of self worth. They learn to share, take turns and have empathy for others. Each day is filled with playing and socializing, singing, learning songs, dancing, indoor play (blocks, play-doh, puzzles, sorting, stacking and free play), outdoor play (tag, hide and seek, Simon says, red light/green light, swings, slides, climbing structures and more), we have daily story time and have water play during the Summer when weather permits. I encourage ALL of our "Little Learners" (of any age) to participate in our daily circle time and I find that even the babies love to hear, clap/dance to the songs we sing during our circle time. Younger children are never forced to sit and participate, if they are not ready, that's okay. Older children (2.5yrs and older) do participate in circle time where we work on learning numbers, colors, shapes, name writing and more. We also work on crafts that children can take home and be proud of. Please note that while I give direction during craft time, I let children make their own artwork and each piece is unique to them and they are proud of their work. It's not about the finished product but about the masterpiece in their little eyes. Showing a love for artwork means a great deal to them.
