Welcome to Linda’s Little Learners!
Linda’s Little Learners is a licensed in-home childcare program serving Citrus Heights, Roseville, Fair Oaks, and Orangevale families.
I provide a safe, nurturing, home-away-from-home environment where children are known, supported, and encouraged to grow at their own pace. My program focuses on creating a warm and welcoming space where children feel comfortable exploring, learning, and building friendships.
At Linda's Little Learners, childhood is valued and respected. Children are given the freedom to learn through hands-on play, creativity, exploration, and everyday experiences that support their natural curiosity and development.
I believe that strong communication and partnership with parents are essential to providing the best possible care. My goal is to create a supportive community where families feel confident, connected, and assured that their children are safe, valued, and thriving.
About Me & My Experience
With over 25 years of experience as a licensed childcare provider in California, I have cared for infants, toddlers, and school-age children in a home-based setting. I am licensed as a large family childcare home, allowing care of up to 14 children when an assistant is present (1:7 adult to child ratio), or up to 8 children when operating independently.
While my license allows for a larger capacity, I thoughtfully structure our daily activities so children often participate in smaller learning groups. Circle time, learning activities, and exploration are frequently divided into smaller groups so children receive more individualized attention, opportunities to ask questions, and meaningful interaction with their caregivers.
Having two caregivers present allows us to provide attentive supervision, maintain a safe environment, and offer more individualized support throughout the day.
With two adults available, children benefit from the smaller learning groups during activities, more one-on-one interaction, and the ability to support different age groups in ways that meet their individual needs. This structure allows one caregiver to focus on activities or learning time while the other assists children who may need extra support, rest time, or a quieter activity.
Our goal is to create a warm, well-organized environment where children feel secure, supported, and encouraged to learn and grow.
This approach allows the supportive atmosphere that families value in a home daycare, while still providing a rich and engaging group experience for children.
One of the greatest benefits of a home daycare environment is consistency. Children are cared for by the same trusted caregivers and grow alongside a familiar group of friends, creating a strong sense of stability and belonging.
My Approach to Care & Learning
Children spend a significant part of their early years in childcare, and I believe a strong partnership between families and providers is essential. Open communication, trust, and consistency help create the best possible experience for children and peace of mind for parents.
My program is rooted in play-based learning, where children are encouraged to explore, imagine, and enjoy the freedom of childhood. Hands-on, sometimes messy play is an important part of our day; it supports creativity, problem-solving, emotional development, and physical coordination.
Outdoor play is a priority whenever possible, and families are encouraged to dress children in weather-appropriate clothing that can get messy, allowing them to fully engage in active learning and exploration.
For older children, I gently support kindergarten readiness skills such as early literacy, numbers, and classroom routines; always in a way that is playful, confidence building, and pressure-free.
Above all, my focus in on helping children develop:
- Confidence and independence
- Empathy and kindness
- Curiosity and a love of learning
- Strong social and emotional skills
A Caring, Value-Guided Environment
My program is guided by Christian values such as kindness, respect, patience, and compassion. These values help create a nurturing environment where children learn to treat others with care and understanding.
While my faith influences the way I care for children, families of all backgrounds, beliefs and cultures are welcome.
